Life Sciences Industry-Responsive Certificates

Bioengineering

Bioengineering professionals pursue careers in medical device companies, pharmaceutical firms, biotechnology start-ups, academic institutions, or government laboratories and agencies.  They use fundamental engineering principles to tackle problems and design solutions for the life sciences industry, working alongside chemists, biologists, clinicians, computer scientists and other experts. Workforce needs articulated by employers focus on professionals who can work on miniaturization design problems in the medical device field CNN Bioengineering Medical Device jobs, in production scale-up of biofuels CNN Money Biofuels Jobs, and systems aspects of imaging CNN Money Engineering Imaging Jobs R&D programs. Consequently, bioengineers must be able to work at the evolving interfaces of the life sciences so as to translate discoveries into products that impact human health and nutrition. See websites at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMB IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society) Society, Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES Biomedical Engineering Society), the National Science Foundation National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health National Institutes of Health for insight into fundamental bioengineering programs.

CSU Fullerton

Pharmaceutical Engineering Certificate
The Pharmaceutical Engineering Certificate is now available through convenient ONLINE classes. The Pharmaceutical Engineering Certificate was designed to promote the development of pharmaceutical engineers who can streamline and optimize drug development and delivery.

Explosive advances in science and technology have revolutionized the research and discovery of new, life saving drugs. These advances have also radically changed pharmaceutical manufacturing and delivery systems, increasing the challenge of designing optimal manufacturing processes for the efficient, safe production of pharmaceutical products.

To successfully meet this challenge, you must be fluent in the language of basic chemical process, engineering principles, and knowledgeable in the engineering science and unit operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing. On completion of this pharmaceutical engineering program, you will have the knowledge and skills you need to succeed.
